At La Posada you are someone special to
us, and not merely a room number. As you enter through the brick
archways onto a stone courtyard surrounded by lush, tropical foliage,
multi-colored bougainvillea and swaying coconut palms, you will be
greeted personally by the owners or by a bilingual member of our
staff.

 Guests
return here year after year to enjoy total informality. They can
relax under the thatched-roof palapa by the pool,
enjoy a cool drink there along with a hamburger, a fish sandwich or
a pork barbecue, or stroll on La Posada's pristine and unspoiled
beach that stretches for miles. La Posada has a great snack bar, but
for variety, we'll provide you with an area map, and a current
list of restaurants that we recommend. |
 La Posada has a
crystal-clear, fresh-water swimming pool with a walk-across
bridge. There's seating all around the shallow end, and
in the deep end, there's an underwater ledge for standing around in
water up to your shoulders, sunning and chatting.
|
 The sunsets from the thatched-roof
palapa on the patio are unequalled in all of Manzanillo.
Guests
gather here for drinks and conversation before heading out for dinner at
one of several really great nearby restaurants.

All rooms are unique and offer a view
of Manzanillo Bay, the harbor, and the Pacific Ocean. Rooms
are simple, but charming, and feature Dutch doors, hand-made
furnishings, antique chests and colorful Mexican rugs and blankets.
There are rooms upstairs with balconies, and garden-level rooms with
easy access to the pool and beach. Air conditioning is installed in
many of the rooms. |
 Evening is a
most special time at La Posada. As the sun sets and the harbor lights
begin to glow, you are treated to one of the most spectacular vistas in
Manzanillo. The activity doesn't end when the sun sets. Almost every
night the fishermen cast their nets and
try their luck. |
Regardless
of the room you choose, you are just a few steps from the pool and
the beach. There's a rock jetty ideal for snorkeling just a minute's
walk down the beach south of the hotel. You will see a gorgeous
array of exotic tropical fish and other exciting marine life in the
calm and crystal-clear waters along the jetty--a natural aquarium at
your doorstep. Snorkeling equipment & trips can be arranged by
management.
|
 The
heart of La Posada is the
sala, or " great room."
Hearty, American-style breakfasts are served here, cards, board
games and puzzles are tucked away in an antique chest for your
pleasure, and mixed drinks are available from the bar.
Guests are spoiled by the staff, most of whom have been at the inn
for more than 3 decades. |
 Want
a beer, water or a soda? Help yourself any time from the old wooden ice
chest in the kitchen. Then drop your bottle cap in the ceramic pot
that has the number of your room painted on it above for accounting
later.
For something stronger, like our special Margaritas, visit our
full service bar, made from gleaming hardwood.

 For
outdoor activities (other than relaxing on the beach or at
poolside), we can arrange diving
and snorkeling trips, deep sea fishing, kayaking, horseback riding and side trips
to Colima, Comala, the
Nogueras museum,
the turtle sanctuary
in Cuyutlan, the volcano, the El Salto
waterfall and the
recently restored ruins at La Campana. We
can also arrange a fun City
Tour,
where you'll get a chance to shop, and see all the main attractions, such
as the "mercado," in
downtown Manzanillo and beyond.

Sometimes there's a
fiesta
at the inn--complete with carnitas, guacamole, Margaritas, and even a Mariachi
band. There is a lot to do and see in unspoiled
Manzanillo, and
no better place to stay than here, at La Posada. For more
information on Manzanillo and the state of Colima, order Susan
Dearing's tourist guidebook. |
