The most spectacular 360 degree view you'll ever see! A short 20-minute hike to the top of the highest hill overlooking Manzanillo, the port, lagoon, peninsulas and bays. A mostly shaded hiking trail begins above the city at 210 ft. above sea level, where we leave the van. The cross, at 540 ft. can be reached by a steep, but well-marked trail over tree roots, rocks and boulders. Once to the top, you're afforded an unbelievable vista, and an incredible picture-taking opportunity. A different trail leads back down, or for the hardy hikers, you can continue on the steep trail down to two private beaches. This hike is best done early in the morning while it is still cool. Wear hiking boots or tennis shoes, bring camera and/or binoculars. For beach, bathing suits optional under shorts and T-shirt. This can be a rigorous hike, though we will be more than happy to take frequent breaks to accommodate your level of fitness.
Duration: 1.5 hours (to the cross and back); 3-4 hours (to the cross and down to the beaches).
Departure time: 8:30 a.m. Price $25 to La Cruz; $45 for the longer hike to the beaches.
